"As a clinician I believe everyone has the potential to become the best version of themselves with support and guidance. Creating a warm, welcoming space where you are met exactly where you are, without judgment, is essential. An integrative, collaborative environment builds a genuine, trusting relationship, allowing your voice to lead us on the journey, so each conversation can unfold naturally.”

Approach to Therapy
My approach to therapy is grounded in a trauma-informed, client-centered framework. I believe that every person brings a unique story, and I meet each client with deep respect, honoring their experiences and pacing. By creating a safe, reliable environment, I help clients reclaim their sense of agency. Together, we explore your world, not from a place of judgment, but with compassion and a commitment to building resilience and meaning in your life.
I integrate empirically evidence-based interventions, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT). These modalities, alongside my trauma-informed, client-centered foundation, allow me to tailor each session to the individual. By grounding our work in these proven approaches, we foster lasting change, helping clients build practical skills, insight, and a renewed sense of hope. Additionally, I may utilize EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to help process trauma and stabilize symptoms. This allows clients to safely re-examine distressing experiences, while fostering new adaptive perspectives. By integrating these approaches, I aim to provide a holistic, flexible path toward healing and empowerment.
I also want to emphasize that I will never proceed with any aspect of therapy you don’t agree to or give permission for. I will never utilize techniques or therapies in which I am not specifically trained. Your consent, safety, and well-being guide every step, and I will be right here, ensuring you remain empowered and fully in control of your healing journey.
"Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose."
- Victor Frankl
Credentials & Qualifications
I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a concentration in Christian Counseling, as well as a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. I am currently a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in the state of Texas under the direct supervision of Lona Snell, M.Ed., LPC-S.
I have worked in a trauma-informed environment with both combat veterans and first responders over the past 6.5 years, having obtained specialized training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). My specialty includes working with adults and adolescence on a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex post-traumatic stress disorder (C-PTSD), grief, relational and attachment issues, and dissociative identity disorder (DID). This hands-on experience, paired with my degrees and specialized training, has allowed me to offer a safe, supportive space where clients can explore their healing journey with trust and confidence.
Passion & Values
My core beliefs and moral compass are rooted in God and my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I was led to this profession at 46 years of age by his divine intervention and guidance. Although I hold a Christian worldview that is deeply important to me, I also recognize that my role as a therapist allows me to set aside my personal beliefs to fully meet my clients where they are. I am committed to the practice of not imposing my faith, but rather offering a safe, nonjudgmental space where your values and beliefs guide our work. However, if it is your desire to integrate your faith in the counseling process, I am more than happy to help facilitate that desire.
I am deeply committed to fostering growth within this secure, empathetic environment and providing a comprehensive, compassionate, and evidence-based approach to each person’s healing journey. I believe the only ‘secret sauce’ in therapy is empowering the client to become the best version of themselves. I can’t offer unicorns or rainbows, and I don’t have a magic wand; however, I walk alongside my clients, providing a steady, supportive presence as they navigate their own growth and healing process.
I recognize that revisiting trauma can be frightening and deeply uncomfortable. Yet it is often in that discomfort that the seeds of healing take root. I will walk beside you in that process, so that even in the hardest moments, you know you are not alone, and that growth is possible.
Empathetic listening is also a great passion of mine. I recognize that sometimes, the greatest need is simply to sit alongside you in that silent, uncomfortable place. In those moments, I don’t rush to fix or fill the space. I pledge to be right there with you, offering presence, so that together we can find strength in that stillness and know you are never alone.
If it sounds like I would be a good fit for you, let’s talk! Happiness, strength, and relief are within your grasp. As Martin Luther King said, “Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.”
*Also, just because I believe in Jesus, doesn't mean you have to. Let's chat.

We have a team of clinicians waiting to unlock the power of vulnerability within you; let's see if we're a good fit!
